How to find Blaenavon

Blaenavon is situated at the North of the Eastern Valley in South East Wales. It is very easy to find from any direction.

• From the M4 / Newport: head North on the A4042 past Cwmbran. At Pontypool, take the A4043 following the brown Heritage signs for "Big Pit".
• From Abergavenny: proceed through Llanfoist then take the left hand turn (A4246) and head over Blorenge Mountain, following the brown Heritage signs for "Big Pit".
• From the Heads of the Valleys Road (A465): come off at Brynmawr, then take the A4248 to Blaenavon following the brown Heritage signs for "Big Pit".

How to find the Forgehammer

From any direction, follow the signs for the town centre until you are in Broad Street, which is the main shopping street. The Forgehammer is half-way up the street, just past the Spar shop (as you go up the hill).
