Green Valley Care Limited is a Domiciliary Care Agency, set up in Torfaen by Company Directors Peter and Elizabeth Miln to provide a high-quality service to adults with Learning Disabilities including those who have additional needs due to mental health issues or challenging behaviour.

Maria Huish-Blount is the Registered Manager for the agency. Maria has worked for the company for several years, most recently as Deputy Manager.

We obtained registration with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales in August 2006 since when we have had outstanding inspection reports, the most recent of which can be read online.

Green Valley Care provides a client-centred service 24 hours a day. Our aim is to support clients to achieve their personal goals and maximize their independence in the community. Support is afforded by an enthusiastic staff team, made up of both full- and part-time staff, who endeavour to ensure consistency of approach is maintained at all times. Staff understand the need for clients to be treated respectfully and as individuals. All staff complete a full Care Council for Wales induction and are encouraged to attend further training, including NVQ qualifications, statutory training and other subjects relevant to the provision of support for the clients. Staffing levels are determined by clients' needs.

Each potential new client is fully assessed, prior to the offer of a support package, to establish the level and type of support that will best suit their requirements. Appropriately-qualified staff, usually the Registered Manager, complete this assessment. A very detailed support plan is then compiled based on this information and the Social Services Unified Assessment. The plan is flexible and will develop with any changes in circumstances or choices of the client. Every client is encouraged to play an active part in the planning of their support package.
